Will I be able to take credit cards?

Yes, provided that you have a merchant account.  The Miva Merchant Shopping Cart is  ready to handle transactions through several online credit card clearinghouses such as Authorize.net and CyberCash.  Through InTheCart.com, your customers will be protected with Secure Server Link encrypted web pages -- as secure as any on the Internet.

So anyone anywhere can place an order.  How am I notified when they do?

Your e-mail becomes your order queue.  Once the order is submitted and the credit card information is captured, you are sent an e-mail with all the order information.

How many items can I put in the Miva Merchant

From 1 to 1,000 items will work quite well.  If you offer more than 1,000 items, you may want to consider a custom solution from BNS.  Written in Cold Fusion and Microsoft SQL server, our extensive experience in custom eCommerce Solutions might be just what you need.

I only have 1 item to sell.  Do I need a shopping cart to sell with a credit card?

No.  With an Authorize.net merchant account you can have a simple one-page checkout that uses the secure server facilities at Authorize.net to capture credit card information.  This lets you sell on the Internet without a shopping cart and database system.

What if my customer does not have a credit card?

You can set up your store with the option of accepting checks online.  Contact your bank for more information.

These prices are terrific but I already have a good relationship with my current hosting website hosting service.  Do I have to move it?

While we can give you the best possible service if both your shopping cart and web site are hosted with us, you can use just the shopping cart services linked from your site's current location.  The transition from your website to your shopping cart will be seamless.
